John Rios began his law enforcement career in Texas in 1987, serving with distinction across two different agencies. Over the course of 32 years, he rose to the rank of Corporal-Detective before retiring in May 2019. Throughout his career, he conducted investigations into felony and misdemeanor cases and collaborated extensively with various state and federal agencies. He has accumulated over 3,300 hours of law enforcement training and holds certifications from the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) as both a Master Peace Officer and a Certified Instructor.

In addition to criminal investigations and polygraph examinations, Mr. Rios’s responsibilities included conducting employee background investigations, managing the registration and monitoring of sex offenders, and analyzing latent fingerprints. He actively contributed to Texas Fatality Review Teams and worked in partnership with Child Advocacy Centers and Adult Crisis Centers to support vulnerable populations.

In June 2006, Mr. Rios graduated from the American International Institute of Polygraph, becoming a qualified polygraph examiner. He is proficient in administering polygraph examinations in both English and Spanish. He also completed specialized training in Post-Conviction Sex Offender Testing at the National Polygraph Academy and remains current with all continuing education and certification requirements. Mr. Rios is a past President and lifetime member of the Texas Association of Polygraph Examiners and maintains memberships in several professional associations.

In June 2019, Mr. Rios founded Blueline Polygraph LLC, offering services in polygraph testing, fingerprinting, employee background screening, and investigative support. Mr. Rios is also a proud U.S. military veteran, having served 23 years in the Texas Army National Guard.
